Food insecurity often looks different than people expect.

Sometimes it's a family going through a difficult season. Sometimes it's a senior citizen stretching a fixed income. Sometimes it's a caregiver trying to balance responsibilities while making ends meet. Sometimes it's someone experiencing homelessness.

Whatever the circumstance, our goal is simple:

To provide good food, dignity, and a sense of normalcy when people need it most.

What Is Feed A Neighbor?

Feed A Neighbor (FAN) is Sweet Marie's community meal sponsorship program.

Local businesses, organizations, and families purchase sponsorships that help provide meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity throughout our community.

This isn't a temporary campaign.

The day Sweet Marie's Diner opens its doors, FAN begins serving meals.

Because we believe that when times are tough, everyone deserves a seat at the table.

How We Serve

DAILY FAN MEALS
Beginning on opening day, FAN meals will be available during regular business hours at Sweet Marie's Diner.

There are no separate lines, special menus, brown bags, questions, or stigma.

Guests receive the same wholesome meals we proudly serve every customer, made possible by our FAN sponsors and supporters.

FAMILY-STYLE COMMUNITY MEAL EVENTS

Sweet Marie's and our community partners identify areas of need throughout Southeastern North Carolina.

Working alongside local businesses, churches, civic groups, and community organizations, we host family-style meal events that bring people together around good food and good company.

These events provide more than a meal. They provide dignity, community, and a sense of normalcy.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES

When times are tough, we'll meet people where they are.

Whether it's a family experiencing a difficult season, seniors and caregivers needing a helping hand, or those experiencing homelessness, FAN allows us to respond with good food, compassion, and dignity.
